Gillian Tett
Biography
Gillian Tett is a British journalist and author who built her career at the Financial Times, where she is a member of the editorial board and writes weekly columns on economic, financial, political and social issues. Born in 1967, she studied archaeology and anthropology at the University of Cambridge before earning a doctorate in social anthropology. She joined the Financial Times in 1993 as a correspondent covering the former Soviet Union and Europe, later serving as Tokyo bureau chief, deputy head of the Lex column and U.S. managing editor. From 2005 to 2007 she conducted ethnographic research inside J.P. Morgan, and her reporting on securitization and derivatives anticipated the 2008 crisis.
