Gerard Kennedy

Gerard Kennedy was an Australian actor who began in theater before moving into early television, much of it for Crawford Productions. He took supporting parts in Homicide and in 1967 became a hit as the villain Kragg in the spy series Hunter, a character so popular that he switched sides and eventually led the show, winning a TV Week Logie for best new talent. He reached national fame as Detective Frank Banner in the police procedural Division 4, and his work there earned multiple Logies, including two Gold Logies for Australian television's most popular personality. Later regular series included Tandarra, Bellbird, Against the Wind, Skyways, Golden Pennies, and The Flying Doctors. He made guest appearances in Neighbours, Blue Heelers, Prisoner, and City Homicide, among other series. In 2008 he played Graham Kinniburgh in Underbelly and Fat Tony & Co. His final credit was Glitch in 2015. He was born in Perth in 1932 and died in 2025.
