Edward McWade
Biography
Edward McWade was an American actor and screenwriter who was born in Washington, D.C., in 1865 into a theatrical household; his father was the stage actor Robert McWade Sr. and his younger brother was the character actor Robert McWade Jr. Between 1919 and 1944 he appeared in more than 130 films, most of them in secondary roles, while his writing for the stage and the screen belonged to the years from 1897 to 1914, when he turned out 15 plays and several silent film scripts. That film career covered more than two decades, and the great majority of his parts were minor ones. He died in Los Angeles on May 17, 1943.
