Dominic Hoffman

Dominic Hoffman is an American actor and playwright whose work has moved between television, the stage and audiobook narration. Born in 1962, he is best known for recurring television parts, playing Louis Sperling on The Shield, Julian Day on A Different World and Dr. Jeff Russell on Grey's Anatomy. In the theater he wrote and performed the one man show Uncle Jacques' Symphony, playing all of its characters himself; it won him Ovation Awards in 2000, among them recognition for his writing, his leading performance and the play's world premiere. The production also took Best Play at the Edinburgh International Festival and a fringe prize in San Francisco. As a narrator he won the 2017 Audie Award for Literary Fiction or Classics for his reading of Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi, and he was also a finalist for an Odyssey Award and two additional Audie Awards.
