David Anders
Biography
David Anders is an American actor of television and stage. Born in Grants Pass, Oregon, he started in school plays and regional theater before moving to Los Angeles, where he adopted the stage name David Anders because another actor was already using David Holt. In 2001, he was cast as Julian Sark on Alias, initially as a guest star and then as a regular through 2006. He went on to play Adam Monroe on Heroes, John Gilbert on The Vampire Diaries, and Victor Frankenstein, also known as Dr. Whale, on Once Upon a Time. On stage, he took the lead in the Off-Broadway rock musical Beautiful. His film credits include Into the Blue 2: The Reef (2009) and The Revenant (2009). He also played Blaine DeBeers on iZombie and Troy Cutler on Necessary Roughness.

About the name
After he moved to Los Angeles, Anders adopted the stage name David Anders, since a different actor was already using the name David Holt.
Big break
Anders landed Julian Sark on Alias as a guest star, then was made a regular and stayed with the show until 2006.

In December 2001, Anders showed up in The Source magazine, doubling as Eminem in an advertisement for the rapper Canibus.
