About the name
Lopez took his WWE ring surname as a tribute to the singer Henry Rollins. While in FCW, he used a finisher called Avada Kedavra, a superkick to the head of a kneeling opponent, named for a killing spell in Harry Potter.
Getting ready for a role
WWE banned Lopez's Curb Stomp finisher from March 2015 to January 2018. Vince McMahon, chairman at the time, felt the move looked too cruel, so Lopez used the Pedigree and the Ripcord Knee instead.
First role
Lopez wrestled for the first time on August 21, 2004, when he was 18. He used the ring name Gixx in the Iowa independent scene.
Early training
Lopez did his training at a wrestling school. Danny Daniels owned that school, which sat on the borders between Chicago and Oak Park.
A first
At SummerSlam on August 23, Rollins beat United States Champion John Cena in a Winner Takes All match for both the WWE World Heavyweight and United States Championships, with interference from Jon Stewart. He is the only wrestler to have held both titles at the same time.
A first
Rollins became the inaugural NXT Champion by winning the Gold Rush Tournament, defeating Jinder Mahal in the finals on the August 29, 2012 episode of NXT.
