Clay von Carlowitz
Biography
Clay von Carlowitz is an American performer and filmmaker whose screen debut came in a 2009 feature he wrote and directed, The House in the Woods. Classically trained, he studied drama at Kenyon College under Thomas Turgeon and spent a year at the University of Exeter reading Shakespeare with Bella Merlin, then took Alexander Technique training at the Tom Todoroff Conservatory in Los Angeles. He became a prominent figure in New York City's independent film community, playing the lead male role of Eugene McCormack in Return to Nuke 'Em High Volume 1 (2013), a performance that drew rave reviews for making a loutish character likable and relatable. His other work includes the horror comedy Banjo, a New York stage production of Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, and roles in the web series Between the Sidewalk and the Street and Under InspeKtion, plus guest spots on Mummy Cop and These Three Girls.
