Biography

Christopher Martin is an American rapper and actor who formed the hip-hop and comedy duo Kid 'n Play with Christopher Reid. Born in 1962, he used the MC name Playboy while performing with Quicksilver and the Super Lovers, and there met Reid, then of The Turnout Brothers. After both groups ended, the pair shortened their nicknames and worked together as Kid 'n Play, rapping and dancing. Martin recorded three albums with the duo and starred with him in five hip-hop comedy films: House Party (1990), House Party 2 (1991), Class Act (1992), House Party 3 (1994), and House Party: Tonight's the Night (2013). The duo split in 1995. Martin later trained at HB Studio in New York City, took the part of an undercover DEA agent in The Return (2010), an independent film, judged the eighth annual Independent Music Awards, and founded HP4 Digital, a multimedia company serving film, digital media, and theater.
