Biography

Christopher Dark, born in New York City in 1920, was an American actor who studied at Cornell University and then at Columbia University before beginning his career in New York theater. He moved to Hollywood in 1952. He guest starred in Western and crime series on television; among his roles was the villain William Swanson in an episode of Trackdown. He was in the first Bonanza episode and returned to that series three more times. He played Pike in a three-part 1964 episode of Disney's The Wonderful World of Color and took the part of a German agent on Combat! in 1965. Besides acting, Dark wrote scripts, working with Ida Lupino and Christopher Cary, and he sat on the Foreign Film Committee for SAG for much of his career.
