Biography

Celine Buckens is a Belgian-British actress who began her screen career as Emilie in Steven Spielberg's War Horse (2011), a role she landed after two auditions. Born in Brussels, she moved to England as a child and grew up in Kensington, London. From 2017 to 2019 she played Mia MacDonald in the Netflix drama Free Rein, and in 2019 she appeared as Annalise in the thriller The Good Liar (2019). She went on to portray Sophie Mercer in the second series of the Cinemax action show Warrior. In 2021 she played Talitha Campbell in the BBC legal drama Showtrial, which brought nominations for a British Academy Television Award for Best Supporting Actress and an International Emmy for Best Actress. She made her directorial debut that year with the short film Prangover, winning best director at the North East International Film Festival. Later television work includes The Ex-Wife and The Castaways, and she appeared in the action film Shelter (2026).
