Antonie Kamerling
Biography
Antonie Kamerling was a Dutch actor and singer who was still studying law when he was cast in 1990 in the new soap opera Goede tijden, slechte tijden, where his character Peter Kelder became one of the show's most popular. He moved into film with the lead in The Little Blonde Death (1993), a casting choice that drew controversy because soap performers were then seen as less serious than other actors, and the part earned him a Gouden Kalf nomination for best actor. He starred in All Stars (1997) and sang its theme song, Toen ik je zag, which reached number one in the Netherlands under his character's name, Hero, though his later music never matched that success. Further films included I Love You Too (2001), and he worked in television series, musicals such as Turkish Delight and Sunset Boulevard, and Dutch dubbing, providing the voice of Geoff in Total Drama.
