Andrea Lewis
Biography
Andrea Lewis is a Canadian actress and singer born in Pickering who first appeared on screen as Cassandra in Maya Angelou's directing debut Down in the Delta in 1998. She later played Hazel Aden in Degrassi: The Next Generation, remaining a regular until her character graduated in 2006, and received Young Artist Award nominations for that work in 2003 and 2006. Her film and television credits include Cadet Kelly (2002), where she played Hilary Duff's best friend Carla Hall, the Nickelodeon musical Spectacular! (2009), and the Hallmark mystery A Nashville Legacy (2023). She released the album Float Away in 2005 and a second album, 5-4-3-2-1, in 2010. In 2012 she founded Jungle Wild Productions, and she later made the web series Black Actress and Beyond Complicated. She also created the docuseries The Black Beauty Effect, which premiered in 2022.
