Plot summary
In 1991 in Queens, Rosie DeToma works at a debt collection agency staffed by former convicts and run by Dave Lovell, who gives her boyfriend Tommy Uva a job. Tommy is restless there, and he blames mafia men for his father's death: the family flower shop was started with a mob loan, and his father was beaten over late payments. Skipping work to watch John Gotti's trial, Tommy hears testimony that mafia social clubs forbid guns, so the men inside are unarmed and would never summon the police. He proposes that he and Rosie rob one, buys an Uzi, and she shows him how to load it. Their first holdup brings cash and jewelry.
