Plot summary
After two and a half years in prison for a hit-and-run accident, Hong Jong-du returns to Seoul and finds that his family has moved without telling him. A restaurant bill he cannot pay lands him in police custody, and his brother Jong-sae brings him back into the family, which takes him in reluctantly. Through his brother Jong-il he gets work delivering for a Chinese restaurant. Wanting to make amends, he calls at the home of the man who died in the crash and finds Han Sang-shik about to move out, leaving his sister Gong-ju, who has cerebral palsy, in the care of neighbors. Jong-du is drawn to her, sends flowers, and lets himself into her apartment with a key he has found.
