Plot summary
An anthology of four horror stories drawn from urban legends. Lisa, a chain-smoking housewife, leaves home to buy cigarettes despite her husband's warning and a serial killer at large in the Topanga area. Teenager J.J. Cooney is determined to reach the thirteenth level of a notoriously difficult arcade game, The Bishop of Battle, which no one he knows has reached. Father Frank MacLeod, a Catholic priest who has lost his faith after witnessing a boy's death, resigns from his rectory and encounters a black pickup truck on the road. The last story centers on Claire Houston, who hears scurrying in her attic and believes rats have infested the house, though her husband Steven is reluctant to call an exterminator.
