Plot summary
Natalie is a high school student in San Francisco. When night falls, monsters come up from their lair beneath the Golden Gate Bridge and attack the people of the city. Natalie gets away from one such attack, in which her friends are killed, but the police and everyone else she tells refuse to accept that an army of monsters is responsible. She is left hunted and disbelieved while also trying to get through high school. She begins preparing herself and her classmates to defend themselves against the creatures.
