Plot summary
Mandy Cooper works as the assistant to Deidre Kelley, who runs a public relations firm in New York. Deidre is hired by Queen Rosalind of Edgemere after the queen's son, Crown Prince Colin, is arrested in Greenbriar, Idaho, during a state visit, for defacing the town founder's fountain. Mandy gives up a family beach vacation to make the trip. On arrival Deidre falls ill and sends Mandy to the first meeting with Colin and the royal communications director, Penelope Sheridan, who takes her for Deidre. Mandy does not correct her, hoping a good result will prove she deserves a junior executive post. Sheriff Wrigley wants Colin jailed rather than let off with community service.
