Plot summary
Ahmed Shaukeen and Jyoti Dilawar are a spirited young couple in love. They belong to different religions, so they know that their families will not approve of the match. The pair elopes and marries in secret, and from that moment they are on the run. Viraj Singh Dagar, a former convict who works as a hitman, is sent after them, and the hunt is brutal. He does not stop looking for the couple, and the pursuit plays out across rural North India. The orders come from Kamala Dilawar, the area's MLA, who is Jyoti's grandmother.

- Bobby Deol was initially reluctant to join Love Hostel, so director Shanker Raman and his crew rewrote the script to appeal to him; Deol agreed after reading the second draft, which Raman said elevated the film's emotional quotient.
