Love Destiny: The Movie (2022) on Netflix

Plot summary

For years Bhop has dreamed of the same woman, and as chief engineer at the Royal Treasury Department he is certain destiny chose her for him. He ends the engagement his parents arranged and then meets Gaysorn, who resembles the woman from his dreams. Gaysorn, the daughter of a nobleman in the Royal Police Department, studies English and world history with Father Jean-Baptiste Pallegoix and rejects the idea of destiny. Father Pallegoix gives her an old notebook from the Ayutthaya era, written in a style unlike any other of its time. She is drawn to Mathus, a Thai-Western man whose odd slang matches the messages in that notebook. He works at the British warehouse and carries an antique musket that belonged to his ancestors, while colonial ambitions press on Siam.
