Plot summary

Liberty Wallace is vice president of marketing for McCloud Industries, a leading American gun manufacturer founded by her father and run by her husband, Victor, as CEO. She slips away from work to meet her lover, the actor Russell Williams. Crossing a Los Angeles park, she is targeted by a sniper named Joe, who calls her cell and orders her to shackle herself to a hot dog vendor's cart. She refuses until he fires, then finds the cart packed with explosives and learns that any call for help or hang-up sets them off. Joe has also planted a bomb in Russell's theater dressing room, and he wants Liberty to use her political connections for an anti-gun forum. His daughter died at school, shot by a classmate with a McCloud weapon.
