Plot summary
At a jewelry shop, Santhu and his in-laws are choosing pieces for his wedding when a call arrives: his cousin Rama lies unconscious in a hospital after his wife hit him with a glass bottle. Santhu's father-in-law threatens to call off the engagement, saying the matter would disgrace the family. Santhu challenges that narrow view of masculinity and tells Rama's story. Rama grew up with Siddegowda, a father who mistreats his mother, Kousalya, and passes on chauvinistic values. Rama belittles women to preserve a macho image. At college he falls for Shivani, a shy newcomer, and tries to dictate her behavior and her social circle.
