Plot summary
Doctor Malini visits Borhan at Tampoi Mental Hospital for cognitive therapy, where a brain injury has left his memory of the past mostly gone. He sees Shamsir ask Doctor Ramu to discharge two patients, then follows the gang wearing a mask assembled from various clothing items. He cannot stop them, but he uncovers their plan: the two discharged patients are to be sent into a restaurant with bombs, a threat aimed at Inspector Sahab and his officers. Borhan seeks Doctor Ramu's advice at his home and decides to keep the costume on to take on the gangs. Bystanders who see his deeds give him the name Keluang Man.

- An earlier live-action Keluang Man film, titled Keluang Man Zero, had Rizal Halim as director and Aziz M. Osman as producer, but it was cancelled after Rizal left the production in April 2018. He apologised to Indonesian and Singapore actors who had been excited to act in it.
- Nas-T won the lead role of Borhan/Keluang Man through an Astro Shaw audition held in three phases and watched by director Anwari Ashraf, with the first phase drawing over 300 internet submissions. Anwari said he trusted Nas because he 'don't have any other choice' given how little time the actor had to commit to the character.
- The Keluang Man costume was designed by Roshfaizal Ariffin, co-writer of the film and co-director of Didi & Friends The Movie; fans leaked the design after finding it on a special-edition Wonda Coffee can, and Roshfaizal confirmed on Instagram that it was the official suit.
- Keluang Man is the first fully live-action film made from a Malaysian animation series of the 1990s; the original animated series it adapts was created by the late Kamn Ismail.
- Nas-T, the Malaysian actor cast as Borhan/Keluang Man, learned four new martial arts to prepare for the role in the live-action adaptation.
