Plot summary
Recruited into the Rio Military Police, Larissa believes the force can be a way out of the violence around her. The pacification project carried out through the UPPs, in her view, is how the city will be made safer, and she wants a part in it. Her first posting is a Pacifying Unit, where the routine of the job bears little resemblance to the purpose she arrived with.
