Plot summary
In the 1960s, President John F. Kennedy proposed that a man be landed on the Moon before the decade ended, and NASA's Apollo program took on the task. Ten of the astronauts who flew toward the Moon as part of Apollo give interviews about their missions, with Apollo 11 given particular attention. Eight of the ten walked on the lunar surface, and two orbited the Moon without landing on it. Film shot by the crews, NASA archive material and television news reports of the time accompany their accounts.
