Plot summary
Both Solmaz and Fikret have just come out of 21-year relationships that ended on the same day. She sings in a tavern, he runs a shop. Solmaz was dumped by the father of her daughter, and Fikret by his wife. They meet by coincidence, and Solmaz invites him to live in her home for a while. Her daughter Zeynep, a college student, is engaged to Emirhan, whose relatives in Adana are traditional and conservative. Zeynep does not want them to find out that her mother has no husband and no father is present. Solmaz talks Fikret into playing Zeynep's father, a police chief, at the wedding. Fikret, a poor liar, refuses at first and then agrees. The wedding turns into a multi-day affair at the insistence of the groom's relatives.
