Plot summary
Zarok lives as a cutpurse. Years before, he carried off a baby girl from a family in Edirne, and the child grew up with different parents. The deed has stayed with him, and meeting Zeliş again as a young woman gives him a way to put it right: he will take her a second time, now to bring her back to the family she was born into. Zeliş is about to enter a marriage she does not want. The two of them take to the road together, the thief and the girl he once stole, and the journey turns into a love story.
