Plot summary
Author Marie Adams is haunted by visions of a nun and a wolf-like creature. Her husband Richard rents a cottage in the town of Drago to help her recover. On their first night there, she hears howling from the woods. The next day, they meet Eleanor, an artist with an antiques shop, and the Ormsteads, who run the store. Marie's dog disappears during a walk, and she dreams of wolves and the same nun. When Richard goes to Los Angeles, Mrs Ormstead tells Marie that the previous tenants left without explanation. Walking through the woods, Marie chases a figure she thinks is the nun, but it is Eleanor in a dark cloak. Eleanor points out a shortcut, and Marie becomes frightened, sensing a pursuer.
