Plot summary
Einz Naovaratpong, a young girl in Bangkok, is diagnosed with brain cancer. Her parents search for any treatment that might save her, and when she dies they refuse to accept that death is the end. They turn to cryonics: her brain is preserved and kept in a laboratory in the United States, making her the youngest person to undergo the procedure. As the family mourns a child they consider suspended between death and a possible reawakening, their Buddhist faith and their devotion to science pull against each other. Scandal gathers around them. Their son Matrix, fifteen, joins his father's wish to see his little sister live again.
