Plot summary
Pam, her friend Bobby, and Chuck wait at a cabin in the mountains for Bobby's boyfriend Matt. Bobby passes the time with the legend of the Hellgate hitchhiker, said to be the ghost of Josie Carlyle, a mining magnate's daughter abducted by a biker gang and killed in 1959 in the town where her father Lucas was mayor. A prospector later found a strange crystal in an abandoned mine and gave it to Lucas, who turned its power on his daughter's body. On his way to the cabin, Matt stops at the diner where Josie was taken, asks a waitress for directions, then picks up a young woman on the road without knowing she is a ghost. She has him drive her home to her father's house.
