Plot summary
Francis Ford Coppola takes his production of Apocalypse Now to the Philippines in the late 1970s, an epic about the Vietnam War. His wife, Eleanor Coppola, keeps a camera running through the shoot, recording the strain the project puts on him as he wrestles with nature, governments, actors and his own doubts. Bad weather, delays, health problems in the cast and a budget that keeps growing drive the production deeper into trouble. Her footage was recorded in secret. Years later, Coppola hands it to two younger filmmakers, who shot new interviews with members of the original cast and crew and cut them into her material.
