Driven to Kill (2009) on Netflix

Plot summary

Ruslan Drachev left his life as a Russian mobster behind and writes hardboiled crime novels in California. A call from his ex-wife brings him back east: their daughter Lanie, an attorney in the Trenton district attorney's office, is getting married, and he does not want to miss it. In Trenton, Catherine is now married to a defense attorney named Terry Goldstein, and Lanie's groom is Stephan Abramov, the son of Mikhail Abramov, who runs the city's Russian mob and hates Ruslan. Ruslan is uneasy about the match, but Stephan tells him he wants no part in his father's business and only wants a new life with Lanie.
