Plot summary
Seven years after a great earthquake, Los Angeles survives as New Angeles, a flooded city of aftershocks, smog and acid rain where gangs hold the streets after dark. Koga Shuko, a crime lord, learns of the Double Dragon, a magic medallion split into two halves, and takes one half for himself. The other half is kept by Satori Imada, who has raised and trained two orphan brothers, Billy and Jimmy Lee, in martial arts. Heading home past curfew from a tournament, the brothers are set upon by gang members and get away with help from the Power Corps, the vigilantes led by their friend Marian Delario. At their home, Satori explains the medallion to Billy and Jimmy and places their half in Billy's care. Shuko brings his henchmen to the Lees' home, intent on taking it.
