Plot summary
An American engineering crew under Bart is putting up a harbor on a Caribbean island when the work exposes two dinosaurs, a Brontosaurus and a Tyrannosaurus rex, buried in suspended animation for millions of years. That night a storm sends lightning into the creatures, and they come back to life. The islanders know nothing of it. A caveman wakes as well, some distance from where he was buried. The Tyrannosaurus rex roams the island, and the caveman wanders into a modern house, where he meets Julio, an island boy who loves dinosaurs. The caveman leads Julio to the Brontosaurus, which is friendly to them.

- While making Dinosaurus!, the effects crew used their Brontosaurus model and miniature jungle set to shoot a shot for The Twilight Zone episode "The Odyssey of Flight 33", and a shot of the T. rex was borrowed for a Gilligan's Island episode.
- The T. rex's roars and growls were reused for creatures in The Outer Limits, including the episode "The Invisibles", and turn up in other film monsters.
