Plot summary
The electronic duo Daft Punk is Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. The documentary starts with Darlin', the band the two played in before, and goes on through the records that brought them a worldwide audience, up to the 2013 album Random Access Memories. Rare archive material is mixed with interviews with people close to the pair. Bangalter and de Homem-Christo rarely spoke in public and did not show their faces on television, keeping control of every stage of their creative work rather than accepting the compromises of the music business. No new footage of the two was shot for the documentary.
