Plot summary
During the 1978 uprising against the Shah's regime in Iran, protesters set movie theaters alight as a protest against Western culture, and many cinemas burned to the ground. In one case, four hundred people were inside a theater when it was set alight, and most of them died. The Cinema Rex fire in Abadan that year was the work of four Islamic extremists. Forty years afterward, in present-day Iran, four ordinary people also decide to burn down a cinema packed with an audience. They choose one that is screening a film about a missile dug up from the ground and never set off.
