Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Bluff (2022)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Writer-director Sheikh Shahnawaz finished the Bluff screenplay just five days before his father died, and went into production a month later to complete the film in his father's memory.
- Shahnawaz made Bluff for a final production budget of $2,000, filming completely guerilla as a one-man crew with locally based actors in his hometown of Birmingham, England, because as a 26-year-old child of two Bangladeshi Muslim immigrants nobody in the UK film industry would give him a mainstream opportunity.
- The undercover policing tactics depicted in Bluff are based on the real-life experiences of actual undercover police agents who operated in the region, and the filmmaker spent time with actual heroin users and drug dealers for research.
- The last 25% of Bluff was filmed after a 6-month hiatus in 2020, once COVID-19 lockdown measures had eased.
