Bittersweet (2010) on Netflix

Plot summary

Masry Sayed El-Araby is an Egyptian American photographer who left Egypt with his family and became a naturalized United States citizen. He returns after twenty years abroad with only his Egyptian passport, hoping to revive his memories of the country. Immigration officers question him closely, a taxi driver overcharges him, and the hotel he booked turns him away because it expected an American passport. Photographing a public place gets him arrested. He sees how few rights Egyptian citizens have and how often foreigners are treated with more respect.
