Plot summary
In a Beirut suburb, May and Walid host a dinner for friends on the night of a total lunar eclipse. Around the table are Maryam, an Egyptian mother of two, and her husband Sherif; newlyweds Ziad and Jana; and Rabih, a childhood friend of Ziad, Walid and Sherif. Talk turns to two friends who stayed away, after the wife read something on her husband's phone and learned he was involved with a younger woman. The guests admit how dependent they are on their phones, and how unwilling they are to share them with the people closest to them. May proposes a game: every phone is left unlocked on the table, and any message, email or call that arrives must be shared with everyone else. The friends agree.
