Plot summary

Two coming-of-age stories run side by side. Berke, a boy who is bullied by other children, is certain that the turtle he keeps gives him magic powers, and that whatever he wishes for arrives because of it. When the turtle is lost, he decides that his powers have gone with it, and his grandfather is the person whose guidance he has. In the parallel story, Kaan is uprooted from the home he knows, a change he has no say in.
