Plot summary
Rudy Donatello performs in drag at a West Hollywood nightclub in 1979. His neighbor Marianna, a drug addict, leaves her thirteen-year-old son Marco, who has Down syndrome, home alone, and she does not come back. Rudy takes Marco to the office of Paul, a closeted district attorney, who tells him to call Family Services. A family services officer named Miss Martinez moves Marco into a foster home, where he struggles to settle and slips away during the night.
