Plot summary
From the days of Thomas Edison into the 21st century, the documentary lays out a history of the American exploitation film. Directors, actors and film historians sit for interviews about the pictures they made or studied, and a narrator carries the chronology. Many titles and posters appear in passing. A smaller set of films is commented on by the people on camera or in the voiceover; that list runs in chronological order, though some titles are discussed out of sequence to fit the themes. The pictures referenced run from The Great Train Robbery in 1903 to Grindhouse, American Gangster and Black Dynamite.
