Plot summary
Vanya Revzin's mother was certain that her studious son would succeed in life, and he spent his childhood studying day and night. At thirty the results are thin: he is fired from his job, his wife leaves him for a boxer, and mortgage payments stretch years ahead. Then he learns that his cunning classmate Kolya Kovpinets has become a prosperous businessman and is holding a competition for high school students with a prize of over a million rubles. Vanya looks so young that clerks ask whether he is old enough to buy alcohol. He shaves off his beard, alters the birth date on his ID, and enters the contest, trusting that experience can beat youth.
