Plot summary
In 2030, ten years after a pandemic, dating is outlawed. Salina, Ulfah and Tara, three teenage best friends, look for happiness and join The Light. Ali Khan and Sofia Khan founded the community, and Ali leads it. It presents itself as a training center and a self-betterment organization that helps young people take charge of their lives. To its members it promises the life they want. What they meet instead is the reverse of what they pictured. Each member is matched, by character and abilities, to marry at seventeen.
