A Man in Our House (1961) on Netflix

Plot summary

Egypt is under British occupation, and Ibrahim Hamdi, a young radical, loses his brother to police gunfire at a student demonstration. He answers with an assassination, killing a prime minister who has cooperated with the colonial authorities, and the police begin hunting him. With nowhere else to turn, he appears at the home of a university friend, Abdulhamid Zaher, and asks to be hidden. The Zahers are a middle-class family with no political record, and at first they refuse, fearing what sheltering him will cost them. They take him in all the same, and Ibrahim's presence puts the whole household, including the sisters Samia and Nawal, in the path of the political police.
