Plot summary
On June 24, 1973, an arsonist sets fire to the Up Stairs Lounge, a gay bar in New Orleans, Louisiana, near the French Quarter. Thirty-two people are killed and many more are badly injured. For over forty years the attack is described as the largest mass murder of gay people in United States history. Survivors, relatives and friends of the victims, and witnesses describe what happened, and newsreel footage, photographs and long lost artifacts fill in the story.
