Plot summary
Alexander Graham Bell teaches the deaf. Gardiner Hubbard sees him teach a deaf child with a glove marked with letters and asks him to help his deaf daughter Mabel with speech. Bell accepts. On his way to the Hubbard house, a young lady on a sled speeds past him, and he loses his balance. Hubbard introduces him to his daughters, and Mabel is the sled-rider. On a wagon ride Bell says he has lost interest in the telegraph and describes a device that would carry the human voice. Bell moves in with his assistant Thomas Watson.
