Plot summary
A single night of service at a Miami restaurant has to produce $20,000 for its owner, the retired heavyweight champion Cleon "Slammin'" Salmon, who owes the sum to the yakuza. He tells his manager Rich the restaurant will be taken if the money does not appear. Rich offers the best-selling waiter a pair of Norah Jones concert tickets, then, when sales lag, imitates Cleon's voice to book a Key Largo resort stay as a bigger prize. The staff works its tables harder. Cleon looks at the running total, dislikes it, and calls everyone in to set a new reward: $10,000 in cash for the top earner, a beating from him for the lowest.
