Plot summary

Asger and Petra are brother and sister, and this is their first Halloween since their father died. Asger has drifted apart from Esther, the girl next door, but both families mark the evening, so the children are thrown together. Then Petra disappears without a trace. She is in the hands of thieves who took her, and she fights them as best she can. Asger and Esther set off into the Halloween night to find her. Along the way they run into the boy Svend, disguised zombies and the thieves, and the search becomes a night of one challenge after another.
