Plot summary
Barbara and Talia are best friends from Brazil who sign up to spend time as exchange students in the United States. Barbara has always wanted to see New York City, so she is surprised to learn that she will be staying two hours north of it, in Woodstock, with a stern sponsor named Sheryll. Used to her mother's comfortable home, Barbara has to take on household chores and look after children. Talia, free-spirited and defiant, is placed with a patriotic, conservative couple. In their new town the two befriend Brad, an American flight attendant with a fondness for Brazil, and Lucas, a Brazilian employed at Ski Station, a ski resort near Woodstock.
