Plot summary
Britain falls to an alien invasion just after Chloe Murdock's sixteenth birthday, and she keeps a camera running through it, telling the story through her own eyes. Her family is lost in the first chaos, and she and her sister Sam throw in with other survivors leaving a devastated London. They go by river out of the city and across the badlands of Britain under alien occupation, searching for their mother. On the way the sisters meet a group of boys looking for a friend of theirs, and the survivors join forces. Besides the invaders, humans under alien control are among those they have to fight.
